For 25-year-old British, taking ketamin, she began as a habit in a teenage age, but after 5 to 10 grams of a popular party drug for three years remains in a painful state with permanent damage to the bladder.
Paige Collins, which comes from Hampshire in Great Britain, spent about USD 1,200 per month in Ketamine, before she started experiencing bladder problems. She abandoned to 50 times a day, often with intense pain, and was concerned about noticing that her urine has a “jelly” consistency.
The ketamine addiction has damaged its bladder, reducing it to such an extent that it can now only have 5% of the original capacity. Shockingly, the “jelly” substance she died turned out to be its own lining of the bladder.
“I had absolutely no tip [and] It was the worst thing that I was still doing it. It was terrible, I felt pain. I got stuck in a series of waking up, doing it, crying, saying: “I will never touch again” he said.
“I caught up to Loo 50 plus times a day. It was ruining my life. I couldn’t go out for four or five months of 2023, I didn’t leave the house,” she added.
Despite the search for medical assistance and finally stopping its use of ketamine, Collins still faces constant bladder problems that have significantly influenced her daily life, including her ability to work. “They have already said that the damage is irreversible. I can do nothing to make my bladder as it used to be,” she said.
To deal with ongoing pain and discomfort, Collins undergoes the treatment of bladder, which helps to stretch the bladder and alleviate inflammation. Although physical damage cannot be withdrawn, Collins is determined to raise consciousness, sharing its history, hoping that it will be a warning to others.
“Ket was a mechanism of escape for me, which I know that it is also many other people. I was a party girl. Even now I like to go out to dance, but I don’t take ket when I leave,” she said.
“I just want to raise awareness because I know physical and emotional pain, which caused me and I would not wish it on my worst enemy,” she added.
